7 West 55th St New York, NY 10019 The Cameron Scottish Country Dancers Schedule Links is a Fellowship Group of The Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church that usually meets on Friday evenings from 6:45 pm to 8:45 pm on the 5th floor of the church house starting in September and ending in June. We offer separate classes for beginner and experienced dancers followed by social dancing for all after the tea break. No prior experience required. We'll teach you everything you need to know to dance with us; and you'll exercise your brain as well as your body . Please note changes to schedule --  We will have a class on 16 May 2008 . This is a change to our schedule. Classes start at 6:45 pm and end at 8:45 pm  Fall classes started on Friday 21 September. You may check the schedule for class times and events, or check our links page for information about other Scottish dance groups and organizations.  This year, we are trying some new ideas: We held a St Andrews Day Dance instead of our Christmas Tea Dance. The first Friday of each month will be a ceilidh dance class which is cosponsored by the Caledonian Club of New York. On Saturday 29 September, weheld an English-Scottish Country Dance workshop and dance as a joint event with the Scotia Dancers of New York and Country Dance * NY. For our last dance class of 2006-2007 we invited the FAPC ballroom dancers to a dance party with a waltz theme. Lynn Pitz, the ballroom teacher, taught some simple steps and showed the difference between the Viennese Waltz, the American International Waltz and Country Waltz.  We included Scottish waltz time dances: the Circle Waltz, St. Bernard's Waltz, Waltz Country Dance and Lomond Waltz mixed in with traditional Scottish country dances - the Lakeside Reel and Dashing White Sergeant. If so, come dance with us at Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church each Friday evening at 7:00 pm, beginning October 6. We have live music, and you never need to bring a partner. Beginners are always welcome, as different levels are taught by several teachers. Scottish country dancing is a great way to laugh while you forget the stresses of the work week. No reservations are necessary; just bring $7 and comfortable clothes. It costs $0.25 per quarter-hour. You feed quarters into the muni meter and display the receipt in your windshield. Fifth Ave. Presbyterian has a parking discount arrangement with a garage on 56th Street, which costs $9.00 for up to 10 hours on weeknights, Saturdays and Sundays.
