Our regular Ceilidh dance class on 27 March is the last one before the Tartan Week events start. Come join us to brush up or learn some ceilidh dances so you can be a part of the action at the parties!
We started on 26 September with a Ceilidh (kay-lee) dance party cosponsored by the Caledonian Club of New York.
Ceilidh dances are informal dances common at Scottish parties and
events such as
our annual Burns Supper. Ceilidh dance classes will be the last Friday
we dance each month. Our class on 31 October was a Halloween Party.
On
the other Fridays of each month, we will teach Scottish Country Dances.
These are more formalized dances that were the predecessor to American
Square Dances. Our first dance party was 3 October. Follow this link for the program.
